While trying to save themselves from an evil black magician, two shape-shifting snakes who are in love with each other get separated in a crowd. As young adults, they both try to find each other.

The feature film will highlight the vibrant culture of a place which was once the hub of life during the Mughal rule.The film has been named after Paranthe Wali Gali, Old Delhi's famous by-lane known for its wide array of tempting paranthas, because the place will be shown as a backdrop of the film.

In a portion of a house in a by-lane in Kolkata (Kinu Goalar Gali), a recently bankrupt (share market crash) family arrives. Father (Pahadi Sanyal), Mother (Lilabati), Son (Prashanta Kumar?), Daughter in law (Gita Dey) and unmarried college going daughter (Sharmila). The other occupant of the home is a family of two, a writer husband Moni (Kali) and his neglected wife Shanti (Sumitra). There is a regular visitor to their home, Indrajit (Soumitra) a similarly poor, budding poet, a rebel type unlike conformist Moni. To avoid the demands of the wife, as well as family, Moni pushes his wife towards his friends including Indrajit. People observe and gossips start. Moni feels jealous, but isn't bothered enough to put a stop. He meanwhile becomes relatively successful, in writing dramas for a theatre company, and the glitz makes him move further away from his wife. To fuel his jealousy, and to bring him back to her, she pretends an affair with Indrajit. Will she finally really succumb to ...

Raja was a professional thief who went to jail for a crime. His very close assistant Bhola waited for him and when Raja came back from jail, they started to plan for a bigger one. One day a family came to their locality. Within few days, Raja and Bhola became closer to that family. Mala was the only female earning member and she worked in theatre. Raja did not disclose his real identity and tried hard to impress her a lot. In the meantime, a tout Gobordhan nagged Mala a lot to join films. Raja and Bhloda gave him a good punishment and saved Mala in several situations. Later Raja tried to cheat a businessperson, but an unavoidable situation changed his life. At last, Mala came to know everything about Raja and accepted him as her partner. Raja also decided to change his life and put his best effort to become a good man. He meets Mala and asks her to forgive Raja. Raja once again regains Mala's love and the film ends on a happy note.

After one male from their tribe is injured, angered Ragis decide to confront the rival snake-charming tribe of Nagis. Angered by this, Mala, the daughter of Sardar Bhopal, decides to kill the son, Sanatan, of the Ragi`s Sardar - but she ends up being rescued by him and both fall in love - much to the chagrin of her father who wants her to wed Kaan Khajur Prabir - and forbids her to even see Sanatan. The latter sneaks into their tribe to meet her and on one such occasion is caught, severely beaten and left for dead. The Ragis find him, bring him back home, and confront the Nagis. Afraid that his daughter may elope with Sanatan, Bhopal and Prabir take her to the city where they hope to compel her to marry the latter. Sanatan follows and through his Been (flute) manages to locate Mala - but their reunion may never materialize - as Bhopal has prepared an elaborate plan to do away with Sanatan once and for all - and aiding him wholeheartedly is not only Prabir but also a venomous snake.
